BULL
Animal inspired form
In a product design course centered around the exploration of surfaces, we were challenged to create a form inspired by an animal of our choosing. Once we established the desired shape, our challenge extended to incorporating distinctive elements reminiscent of electronic products, such as a parting line, a button, or a screen.
For my design, I drew inspiration from a bull. I closely observed the bull's postures and analyzed its movements through sketches. Ultimately, I decided to focus on a particularly dynamic posture, where the bull's body twisted in opposing directions, embodying the intense energy of its movement.
To distill the essence of the bull's motion, the details of his posture were translated into clean simple surfaces that were then carved out of hard clay - creating the final design which fused the characteristics of electronic devices with the energy and motion of the bull.
